Carving pumpkins

From Halloween 2010

We made our Jack-o'-lanterns last night. Why, you ask? Well, because tomorrow is Halloween, of course! I even got to help Daddy cut off the top!

From Halloween 2010

What is that stuff in there? Are you going to take it out, Daddy?

From Halloween 2010

That's silly!

From Halloween 2010

I want rectangles for eyes, a triangle for a nose, and another rectangle for a mouth. That looks great!

From Halloween 2010

I guess I'm not big enough to carve the pumpkin yet. I'll just have to watch!

From Halloween 2010

Daddy, you are a great carver!

I am a very proud owner of my own Jack-o'-lantern!

Getting ready for Halloween

From Halloween 2010

Tomorrow is a big day, just wait to see who I dress up as. We get to go to a party after church and then my Mama and Daddy say they'll take my sister and me out trick or treating.

Here I am pointing at all of the stringy stuff inside of the pumpkin. What is that stuff anyway?

From Halloween 2010

My Mama says that I am not old enough to make a Jack-o'-lantern by myself yet, so she chose out the pattern.

From Halloween 2010

And my Daddy said he had to carve it out for me. I think it is because he wanted to play with one of his power tools.

Finished!

So This is Love?!?

I hear all the time from my family how much they love me! I also feel it! I am being held and loved on all the time! We even eat as a family every night. Meredith not only shows me but she tells me and Mama how much she loves her new sister Emmaline and Theo Shows me with he gentle "hugs" which feel more like a lean in with his head but I will take what ever love I can get! Meredith also likes to show her love in helping! She helps pick up things I drop, and shhh's me when I cry and even helps with bathing me! Here are some pictures of my family loving on me!

I'm Home!!!

From Emmaline Ruth

The pediatrician said that my blood test for infections came back negative and that my blood sugar has stabilized. That means I was able to go home! I still have a very slight heart murmur, but the doctor thinks that it may just be normal and something I grow out of.

From Emmaline Ruth

I was so happy to be out of the hospital and to see the rest of the world! My sister was even happier to be able to help my Mama take care of me around the house. I'm glad to be home!

Hello World!

From Emmaline Ruth

I decided to come into the world on September 29, 2010 at 1:49 am. My Mama wanted me to arrive the day before, but I had other plans! :)

When I was born, I was 7 pounds, 11 ounces and 21 inches long. My head circumference was 36 cm!

From Emmaline Ruth

I had a bit of a rough start... at first everything seemed alright. I started breathing shortly after being born, warmed up, and turned a nice baby pink color. But not a little over an hour later, I was having a hard time breathing, had a really low blood sugar level, and had heartbeat rhythm problems.

From Emmaline Ruth

I had to spend the first two days of my life in a special care nursery. This is how I felt about that. Actually, at first I was so lazy that I didn't even care with the nurses poking and pricking me for blood tests and an IV! Luckily the IV helped and I started telling the world my opinion!

From Emmaline Ruth

I even started opening my eyes for my Mama, Daddy, and the nurses! My Mama, Daddy, sister, brother, and Grandma were able to visit me in the nursery. My Mama and Daddy were almost always with me. Some friends from church even came by! I was plenty loved and that helped me get better!

Hope to see everyone soon!
