I'm going to be a big sister, and I'm going to teach the baby how to ...

Sleep like a baby!

I don't sleep much anymore (at least I don't like naps much), but I used to sleep. At least I think I did... it is kind of hard to remember. I seem to be in a permanent daze; always tired...

Whoa, sorry, almost fell asleep. We can't let that happen!

I'm going to be a big sister, and I'm going to teach the baby how to ...

Be the cutest, most serious baby in the world!

Well, I can't say I'm always serious. Sometimes I'm crabby (don't tell Mama I told you that...). But most of the time I'm happy. And darned cute. Here's a picture to prove it!

On second thought... Maybe I'll teach the baby how to be the second most cutest baby in the world. I certainly wouldn't want to give up my title!

I'm going to be a big sister, and I'm going to teach the baby how to ...

Play with the dog's toys!

I really love playing with Gilligan's (a.k.a, "ga ga" and sometimes "ga ga ga") toys. Especially when that means Gilli comes to play with me! Here I am trying to get that silly boy to come over to me. Doesn't he know yet that I'm calling him? I mean really, what's it take to train a dog around here?

I'm going to be a big sister, and I'm going to teach the baby how to ...

Walk around the house -- with plastic keys in your mouth!

I don't like walking around just by myself. Maybe it is a self confidence thing ... maybe I just don't like being alone. Who knows? Anyway, I love walking around while holding on to something. In this case, it is my set of toy keys. At other times it is a big ball -- who would want to do the same thing all of the time?

I'm going to be a big sister, and I'm going to teach the baby how to ...

Read books to the puppies!

I still don't technically know how to read, but I have a feeling the baby won't know the difference. If I'm already one year old and can't read I think I have a head start on the baby. It will come with time, don't worry!

I'm going to be a big sister, and I'm going to teach the baby how to ...

Eat with a spoon!

Hopefully by then I'll be able to do a better job, since I'll be older and wiser. I wouldn't want to look silly with all kinds of food strewn across my face. Hey, it will be okay. My Mama says I have until late April or early May to perfect eating with a spoon!

I'm going to be a big sister, and I'm going to teach the baby how to ...

Suck on a pacifier.

But my Mama and Daddy say that I won't be able to suck on the baby's pacifier, especially if it is attached to the baby. I guess this doll won't work well as an example then. I'll have to find my real pacifiers. Now where did I leave one? I know it is around here somewhere...

I'm a big girl now!

For any of you that had doubts about me getting bigger by the moment, here's the latest stats from the pediatrician:

Height: 30 inches (75 percentile)
Weight: 21 lbs and 2 oz (50 percentile)
Head: 18.5 inches (95 percentile)

The doctor said that I "look wonderful in all aspects."

I just thought I'd let you know that I'm 2 and 1/2 feet tall already! Oh, and I sorta like eating cupcakes. ;)

The Cake

I hear the most important part of events is the cake!! I made Meredith's cake and with some fiascoes it all got worked out! It only took 4 boxes of cake mix some tears and Timothy coming home and taking charge for it all to work out! Gilligan says thanks for the cake!

Meredith was glad to finally have a piece of cake after watching Mama spend most of the day before "playing" with it. She ate more then I thought she would. (two bites!)
The pictures are of me decorating the cake, the cake and Meredith eating some(playing).

I'm one year old!

It's official! I am one year old as of yesterday.

My Mama must be the bestest in the world because she invited over all of my bestest friends. We had a blast playing with all of my toys! Wow, was it exciting! Everyone must really love me because they even gave me all kinds of new toys, books, and clothes! I'm so excited that I'm even wearing a long sleeved jacket, with the hood up, in the middle of a south Texas summer! Have I gone crazy mad?!

Anyway, be sure to keep tuned to my blog, right here. Not only is it the bestest blog around, but you'll get to see some great photos of me at my birthday party. A few were taken by my Daddy, but most were taken by my Mama and Daddy's friend, Evan. Thank you, Evan! You're the bestest parents' friend a baby can have!

In case you can't wait to see the bestest baby in the world, check out all of the bestest pictures you have ever seen in my new Picasa Web Album at 1st Birthday.

I just had to say bestest one more time.

Have a great day!

Hmmm...

Have the bestest day ever!

My Daddy

I wanted to tell my Daddy that I am really starting to like him! He brought out something He called Teddy...I have not shown much interest in stuffed things other then to take them out of the basket and step on them but it captivated me the other day. I sure miss daddy I hope I can get a good bath from him soon. Mama just does not do it right.

I'm going to get you!

You better watch out, because I love giving kisses! Sometimes my kisses are a little more like biting, but hey, who cares with such a cute face like this!

Here I am getting ready to give my Mama a kiss. Then you see me showing my Mama how much I love her. Baby kisses for all!

At least they aren't puppy kisses. Take it from a baby who knows -- those can be very slimy, especially Gwen kisses!

Puddle Jumping

The other day this storm named Edouard came on shore in Texas. The weatherman called it a tropical storm, but I don't get what makes it tropical. South Texas is more like a desert than the tropics, but I'm no meteorologist! It didn't really do much in San Antonio except for rain not quite 3/4 inch (whatever 3/4 is, much less an inch...), but it all came at once so we had puddles!

My Mama, being the great Mama she is, took me outside as it let up. I decided that standing underneath the porch was for all those non-adventurous babies, so I had to go out in it. Too bad if that means getting wet -- no pain, no gain is my mantra (what's a mantra?) For some reason my Mama didn't come out and get me, so I decided to stand right underneath where the rain was pouring off the porch roof. How fun was that!

Anywho, after the rain really stopped Mama took me out puddle jumping. Well, since I can't really jump yet, it was more like puddle toddling, but it was fun anyway! Here I am walking like a big girl straight through the puddles on the side of the street outside my home.

Where did all the toys go?

This basket used to have all kinds of toys in it. Where did they all go? I don't see the puppies playing with them, so I wanted to have a good time playing around. But for some reason all I see is the bottom of the basket.

Can you help me find the puppies' toys?

Only SEVEN more days!

I still don't really know what this whole birthday thing means, but I hear that there is now only seven more days! That must be less than 20, because there's been almost two weeks going by since I last posted about my 1st birthday.

I thought I would share with you a portrait that I really like. Everything looks great except for that drip of drool ready to fall off my chin. Just ignore that...
