Then and Now

From Theodore Elial 6 Month Birthday

I turned six months old on this past Tuesday. I even went to the doctor to celebrate! She told me that I weigh 17 pounds, 13 ounces and that I am 28.75 inches long. My head is 17 inches around! I'm a long, lean, scooting machine!

From Meredith Jane 6 Month Birthday

Did you know that at one time, my big sister was the same age too? She's so much bigger now, it is hard for me to imagine that she couldn't walk, run, and talk like she can now. When she turned six months old, she was 17 pounds even and 26 inches long. No word on how big around her head was...

If you are the type who can't get enough pictures of me, be sure to check out my new picture album, 6 Month Birthday.

Happy Halloween!

From Halloween 2009

Tomorrow is Halloween. How do I know that, you ask? Well, my Mama and Daddy told me so. I believe most everything they say. :)

My Mama says I'm going to be her little candy corn for Halloween and my sister is either going to be a pumpkin or a dalmatian. I've seen her in both costumes, and I'd have to say that I think she may be outgrowing the dalmatian costume.

Anyway, my Mama and Daddy say that tomorrow night we get to go around to our neighbors and say "trick or treat!" For this, our neighbors give us candy. I think they're really going to give us candy because we look cute. What do you think?

Now, I don't know what candy is... does it taste anything like green beans, yams, peas, or avocado?

More Elmo!!!

Theo's been getting a lot of attention lately here on our family blog... and I don't want you to think I have fallen off the face of the earth. So I got up late tonight to let you know what has been going on in my life. (just don't tell my Mama and Daddy as it is almost 10 pm!)

I like watching Sesame Street on PBS -- I didn't realize it was on PBS because Mama is always recording it on our DVR. By the way, what is a DVR? I think I like DVRs too, because ours lets me watch Sesame Street whenever I want to!

Anyway, back to Sesame Street. I like Elmo and Cookie Monster. And Zoe and Bert & Ernie (a.k.a. "Bernie") and of course Big Bird. Last week we got to see a lot of my favorite Sesame Street characters in person! My Mama and Daddy are the best! Here I am with Mama and Theo watching:

Cookie Monster didn't make it, but I did get to see Elmo. I wanted to see Elmo sing and dance more, so I kept saying, "More Elmo, more Elmo!"

From Meredith Jane 25-27 Months

I was so happy to see Elmo that I jumped up and down for joy in the foam pit after the show!

From Meredith Jane 25-27 Months

What a great time! I sure hope I get to see Elmo again sometime soon. And maybe Cookie Monster can come next time???

Pumpkin Love

Pumpkin Patch

A little over a week ago I took the kids up to visit with my Mom. We enjoyed the day at the pumpkin patch. I took several pictures, many of then did not turn out. I did not do very well at taking pictures and got only a few pictures from the day. I am glad to say that I did get two of each kid.

Huh? Did you say that we are at a pumpkin patch? What do we do there?

If I could speak dog I think Gilligan would be saying, "Finally, I get some time to myself! This thing sure makes a good chin rest!"

Story time songs

My sister loves going to story time at the library. One of the things they do there is sing songs. She likes the songs so much, she relives the motions at home.

From Theodore Elial 4-6 Months

She's singing, "Jump, jump, jump your jiggles out!"

From Theodore Elial 4-6 Months

"And wiggle..."

From Theodore Elial 4-6 Months

"Your waggles away"

Whew! That is an active song. Maybe next time we can try something a little tamer?

How did I get under here?

From Theodore Elial 4-6 Months

Just a second ago, I swear I was not under the table. How did I get here???

From Theodore Elial 4-6 Months

As they say, when in Rome... play with your toys. Many thanks to my big sister for bringing them over to me, because I seem to be stuck under here!

I think I'm done now!

Peas

From Theodore Elial 4-6 Months

Like my big sister, I don't like peas. Why would my Mama stop feeding me those yummy green beans and yams? I may like peas later, but right now I don't care for them much.

From Theodore Elial 4-6 Months

I do love my Mama, though! XOXOXO

My Tricycle!

From Meredith Jane 25-27 Months

My Mama and Daddy used push me around in my tricycle. Well, I'm here today to tell you that they won't need to for long! They get me going and then I'm off!

From Meredith Jane 25-27 Months

My legs are finally long enough to reach the pedals and I finally figured out what to do with the pedals. I learned it from watching my Daddy ride his bike while he pulled me in our baby trailer. It looked like so much fun, I thought I would try it out for myself.

I'm sure glad I get three wheels! I don't think I would want to try balancing right now. It takes enough concentration to just move my legs!

A hiking picture story

There once were two best friends. They went on a hiking trip with their Mommies, Daddies, and puppies. For some of the time they rode on their Daddies' backs. Riding was fun, but when they got to walk by themselves...

FREEDOM!

And races!

And leaving the parents in the dust! They even had to call back to the Mommies and Daddies to hurry up! It was a great time.

From Meredith Jane 25-27 Months

These friends got to run around, play in the dirt, walk in the grass, and just plain have a blast!

From Meredith Jane 25-27 Months

Even the Mommies had a great time!

From Meredith Jane 25-27 Months

But then they had to decide where to go next.

From Meredith Jane 25-27 Months

The Mommies and Daddies said that they all should go eat lunch. So the best friends ran there too!

From Meredith Jane 25-27 Months

But sometimes the friends fell over and got their hands all muddy :(

From Meredith Jane 25-27 Months

The Mommies and Daddies said it wasn't far to where they would eat, so they walked some more. Over the creek and through the woods...

To a happy and yummy lunch!! (Where I ate most of three orange, pumpkin shaped sugar cookies...)

Sitting up tall

From Theodore Elial 4-6 Months

I must be great at keeping secrets. My Mama was surprised today when she saw me sitting up all steady and straight like a big boy. I've been able to sit up by myself briefly for a little while now, but I'm starting to perfect holding my back up straight.

From Theodore Elial 4-6 Months

Even if Mama didn't know that I could sit up straight, I'm happy that she knows now. Can you tell?

From Theodore Elial 4-6 Months

OH NOES! I'm not sitting up anymore!? :)

From Theodore Elial 4-6 Months

P.S. -- This isn't a secret... My Mama and Daddy think I'm cute! They tell me this all the time!
