Meredith Jane Needs You!

From Meredith Jane 19-21 months

To make sure you save this link and change your bookmarks if you need to.

We will keep A Day In the Life of Meredith Jane until after Cashew is done in Mama's belly, just to make sure that everyone can find us here.

What is sowing anyway!?!? I think that I might have a handle on what a sprout is because Daddy just planted some red yucca seeds in pots in the back yard and they have turned from dirt to sprouts. At least that is what Mama and Daddy call them. So am I a red yucca?!? I think I look more like Mama and Daddy (more so Daddy than Mama) than I do the things growing in the back yard.

By the way Daddy told me that the title of this post is funny, but he says I have not seen the poster.

I'm going to be a Big Sister and I am Going to Teach the Baby to...

...Give lots of kisses!

Family Pictures

Yesterday, we went to take pictures as a family. We had friends meet us at the Japanese Gardens. It was a really pretty place plus it had GREAT stairs for me to climb on. Mama said she wanted pictures of all of us while the baby is still in her tummy.

Oh talk of the baby in her tummy reminds me, you may remember Mama and Daddy have been talking about renaming the blog when my new brother or sister comes home. Mama thinks it maybe better to rename it before cashew comes. They are still working out a new name but stay tuned to what will be the new name. Mama and Daddy are still trying to work out if blogger will redirect you to the new blog name or if they are going to have to let everyone know through e-mail or some other way.

You can see all of the pictures of us as a family here.

Hey, this thing is like my bathtub but colder!

From Meredith Jane 19-21 months

It is wet like my bathtub.

I can splash like my bathtub.

But it is much, much bigger and it is colder?

Hmm... Mama and Daddy called it the Guadalupe River.

Why is my butt getting wet? Good thing I was dry before I got in!

Don't miss all the new pictures in my latest web album, 19-21 months!

I like slides!

From Meredith Jane 19-21 months

I especially like them when other people ride down them with me. Most of the time it has been my Mama or Daddy, but here I am riding the slide with my Aunt Katie. Isn't she just the greatest?

Climb up on everything in sight!

This past weekend, Grandma Kat, Patoo, Aunt Katie, Mama, Daddy, Gilligan, and I went camping! It was great fun! I got to go on a hike play in the river, and best of all, climb up on the cooler!

From Meredith Jane 19-21 months

Gilligan didn't seem to worried that I was climbing all over. I guess it was okay, because I didn't fall anyway!

It Must Run in the Family

I hear that my Grandma Stavenger's favorite place to eat is McDonald's. Today, while out Mama and I ran into friends and we ate at a McDonald's. Mama got a 10 piece nugget, fries and a drink. I normally eat some fries, plus I had my own drink and snack trap from home. I decided today would be a good day to really try chicken though. I ate three chicken nuggets! Now if I can just get Mama to cook like that ;).

I Broke It, Daddy Fixed It.

The other day I was pushing my stroller around having a grand old time and then something horrible happened! I pushed my stroller into my cart and the wheel fell off! I was devastated! Mama took it away until Daddy could fix it. Well today Daddy decided that he had time to fix it! I was very interested in the process of how to fix a broken cart.

Thank You Daddy!!! You are the bestest!!

Just checking that the wheel is still attached...

Did You Wear Green?

I kept hearing Mama give Daddy a hard time about wearing green on this certain day in March. Apparently yesterday was St. Patrick's day, And in honor of our Irish heritage Mama and I wore green. Daddy of course did not. He says he's Norwegian...

That doesn't matter to me, though... Since Daddy didn't wear green, that meant that we got to pinch him. Mama says as I grow up I will begin to understand what heritage means and that we will get to do more fun things other then just pinch people. She said something about making Irish Soda Bread and other fun things. I hope you all had a good fun St. Patrick's day and wore green!

Do you want more?

This evening was my turn to see one of Meredith's "firsts". I was going through the Sunday night routine feeding her, giving her a bath, and putting her to bed.

While feeding her, I ate a few of her crackers... hey I was hungry too ;) Shortly after, Meredith asked me her first direct question (in sign language). She pointed at me and then said "more". She wanted to know if I wanted more! I said please, she said please, and then handed me a cracker.

I at first was trying to figure out what she wanted more of, but then realized she pointed towards me, not the pantry or refrigerator... She even did the same thing a few more times, including with her craisins.

It was quite an evening :)

A Hat?

This morning for our walk it was chilly...I know you northerners would not think that it was but since I have been running a fever and what not Mama bundled me up in the stroller and put a hat on my head. I left it on amazingly! I think I mostly left it on because I could not move my arms. Though when Mama and I went out this afternoon and Mama put my coat on. I asked for the hat on my head again. I may just be starting to come around to this hat thing.

So I bet you are wondering what this has to do with the picture of me with a box on my head. Well I decided I like hats so much that other things can be hats too, like this box.

Wait NO that is silly!

Its Been a Long Day!

But I finally got what I wanted! These past few days I have not been quite feeling like myself. Mama says it is because I have been running a fever. She says I am doing fine though and mostly acting like myself. Today, I decided that Mama just would not do anymore. I kept asking for Daddy! PLEASE! then running to the window to see if Daddy would ever come home.

Mama did her best to keep me occupied but things went down hill when Mama tried to change my diaper before lunch time. Boy I wanted NOTHING to do with it. So much so that I locked myself and Ellie (our friends' great dane) in Mama and Daddy's room. That was a little traumatic after I figured out that I could not get back to Mama. Luckily Mama called Daddy who told her what screwdriver to use to get the bedroom door unlocked. (Mama went up after that and put a doorknob protector on the bedroom so that I can not pull that trick again.) Then after lunch, Mama put me down for a nap. I did fine for a while just talking to myself but then I got upset and Mama tried to calm me down but she was just not what I wanted. Finally out of desperation Mama called Daddy and let me talk to him ( I just listened through the phone). I calmed down but never took a nap. I kept asking, "Daddy please!" and looking out the windows.

Daddy called again later and I got to talk to him again (again I just listened to him talk to me -- I think he told me he was on his way home). Then after the phone call we had to wait till his car drove him into our driveway. I was SO happy to see him! I practically jumped out of Mama's arms to him. Mama had to save Daddy's lunch box from falling on the ground. After a few minutes of Daddy and I playing. I snuggled down in his arms and fell right to sleep. I sure do love my Daddy! Here is the picture of my Daddy and I sleeping.

Merry Maid

From Meredith Jane 16 - 18 Months

My Mama and I put together a bin organizer shelf for my toys downstairs today. After teaching me how to put away my toys (like I don't already know how...), my Mama said it was time to clean.

So guess where I went?? Of course to my very own vacuum cleaner! Here I am helping out like a big girl. My vacuum may not pick up the dirt as well as Mama's, but I sure look cute and happy using it.
